Austin Kitchen Remodel Case Study – Custom Cabinets, Glass Backsplash & Pantry Upgrade

Another Happy Customer – Austin, TX

This kitchen remodeling project in Austin, TX was a full gut remodel where we removed everything and rebuilt the space with improved layout, better storage, and higher quality materials throughout.

In addition, we made appliance layout changes by converting from a standard range to a built-in oven with a separate cooktop. This created a more functional layout while giving the kitchen a cleaner overall design.

Complete Kitchen Renovation Overview

  • Full kitchen gut renovation

  • Custom cherry shaker cabinets with soft-close doors and drawers

  • Brazilian Taupe granite countertops

  • Handmade glass mosaic backsplash (custom installation)

  • Full floor preparation with leveling and tile installation

  • Appliance upgrades including built-in oven and cooktop

  • Walk-in pantry storage redesign

This project took approximately five weeks to complete from start to finish. The cherry cabinets paired with the under-cabinet lighting highlight the custom handmade glass backsplash, while the updated layout improves both function and flow throughout the space.

Floor Preparation, Tile & Custom Glass Backsplash

  • 13″x13″ porcelain tile flooring installed throughout the kitchen and pantry
  • Full floor preparation including grinding high spots, floating low areas, and applying a self-leveling system
  • Handmade glass mosaic backsplash from Designer Glass Mosaics
  • Pre-layout of all backsplash sheets to verify numbering and make adjustments before installation
  • Paired with Brazilian Taupe granite countertops

Before installation, we laid out the entire backsplash on the countertop to verify the numbering and make necessary adjustments. A few sheets required minor corrections, which we handled prior to install to ensure a clean, consistent finished product.

Custom Cabinets and Expert Design

The rich cherry cabinets complement all of the other finishes and tie the space together. The real standout feature for our customer was the custom walk-in pantry, which replaced the outdated builder-grade shelving and now includes custom shelving and a built-in drawer bank for better storage and organization without changing the footprint.
