Feature Wall Design & Construction
This custom TV feature wall completely transformed the living room into a modern focal point with integrated stonework, shiplap finishes, and a built-in electric fireplace. We started by laser mapping the entire wall layout to make sure the fireplace, television, mantle, and surrounding finishes aligned properly within the vaulted living room space.
Custom Framing, Electrical & Shiplap Installation
Once the layout was finalized, we framed the entire feature wall using a combination of 2×4 and 2×6 framing materials to properly support the fireplace, television, engineered stone, and mounting areas. After framing was complete, we relocated the outlets for the television and electric fireplace before sheathing the entire wall structure.
With the framing and electrical completed, we installed horizontal shiplap across the full feature wall to create a clean modern backdrop for both the fireplace and television.
Engineered Stone Mantle & Hearth Installation
After the shiplap installation was complete, it was time to template and measure for the engineered stone mantle and hearth. The stone was fabricated with mitered edges and vein-matched detailing so the finished installation would look like one continuous solid piece of stone. Once the stone was installed, we protected all surfaces while completing the final caulking and paint work throughout the feature wall.
Fireplace & Television Installation
The final phase of the project included installation of the electric fireplace and wall-mounted television. Proper electrical planning and GFCI protection were incorporated during construction to ensure safe long-term operation. This custom TV feature wall turned out beautifully and now serves as the main focal point of the entire living room.
