As a bathroom remodeling contractor in the Austin area, we redesigned this Balcones Woods master bathroom with a walk-in shower, custom cabinetry, frameless glass, and a more functional layout throughout the space.
We completed this Balcones Woods master bathroom remodel with a full layout redesign focused on improving the way the space functioned and flowed. The remodel included a larger walk-in shower with a linear drain, frameless glass enclosure, custom clear-coated cabinetry, standalone linen storage, pocket doors, upgraded ventilation, large-format porcelain tile, Brizo plumbing fixtures, and updated lighting throughout the bathroom.
The original bathroom and closet layout felt closed off and outdated, so we reworked the space to create a more open and functional design. New pocket doors were added for the closet and water closet, the vanity wall was redesigned to include a seated makeup area, and the shower footprint was expanded. The new shower was finished with ceiling-height porcelain tile in a vertical stacked layout, a frameless glass enclosure, linear drain system, brushed nickel Schluter trim, floating stainless-steel shelving, Brizo Odin fixtures, integrated volume controls, and a matching handheld shower spray.
Large-format porcelain tile was installed on both the bathroom floor and shower walls to reduce grout joints and create a cleaner overall appearance. The shower floor was finished with linear tile designed to complement the drain layout while adding texture underfoot. MetroQuartz Luce Oro engineered stone was installed on the vanity countertops, shower curb, pony wall cap, and windowsill for a consistent finish throughout the bathroom.
The vanity was custom built with cabinet doors, drawer storage, and a dedicated seated area beneath the window. The clear-coated wood finish added warmth and contrast against the lighter tile selections. A matching standalone linen cabinet, toe-kick LED lighting, undermount sinks, and a framed mirror completed the space.
Humidity-sensing exhaust ventilation, updated vanity lighting, pendant lighting, ceiling fixtures, and new switches and outlets were installed throughout the space. Brizo plumbing fixtures, a Toto Aquia toilet with Washlet bidet seat, and brushed nickel accessories completed the installation and helped tie the entire space together.
